It then makes a historical study of the exotic events, i.e irhāsāt, in the holy Prophet's life before his prophetic mission in three periods: a) on the eve of his birth, b) throughout his mother’s pregnancy and when he was born, and c) during his childhood and adolescence. This study is thus focused on the discussion about the nature as well as the veracity of irhāsāt in the holy Prophet's life up to his prophetic mission. پژوهش حاضر، پس از ارائه‌ی تعریفی از واژه‌ی «ارهاص» و تفاوت آن با معجزه و کرامت، از باب مقدمه، به برخی از حوادث عجیب و خارق العاده در زندگی برخی از پیامبران پیشین می پردازد و در ادامه، حوادث خارق العاده و عجیب یا همان ارهاصات را در زندگی پیامبر اکرم (ص)، پیش از بعثت حضرت در سه مقطع زمانیِ آستانه‌ی تولد، هنگام حمل و تولد و دوران کودکی و نوجوانی از منظر تاریخی، مورد مطالعه و پژوهش قرار می دهد. موضوع این پژوهش، مطالعه در کم و کیف و صحت و سُقْم ارهاصات در زندگی پیامبر اکرم (ص) تا پیش از بعثت حضرت است.
