Also an account was given about his personality and his love for wealth and strong ambition for caliphate . The present article is concerned with Sa'ad's stances vis - a - vis Iman Ali during the period of Imam's caliphate , particulary relating the three battles which broke out during the reign of Imam Ali. The article which comments on different narrations of some historians numerates the weak points in them. در بخش نخست این پژوهش، با اشاره به سابقه سعد در پذیرش اسلام و نیز نقش نظامى او در دوران فتوحات در جبهه هایى مانند قادسیه و نهاوند و هم چنین عضویت او در شوراى شش نفرى، به موضع گیرى هاى او در برابر امیرمؤمنان در عصر سه خلیفه، پرداختیم و با تکیه بر شیفتگى او نسبت به «ثروت» و «قدرت» انگیزه هاى او را تحلیل و بررسى کردیم. اینک در این بخش، موضع گیرى هاى او را در برابر امیرمؤمنان(علیه السلام) در زمان خلافت آن حضرت، بهویژه در جنگ هاى سه گانه، بررسى و گزارش هاى مورخان را در این باب نقد مى کنیم.
