The way of life of these great persons can be studied from individual, social, political and cultural aspects. One of the focal points in the Impeccables’ way of life is their military conduct which is of different dimensions. One of its dimensions is legality and respect for law. In this paper, the Prophet’s and Imam Ali’s military conduct in regard with acting according to law has been studied. It refers, on one hand, to the nature of the relations and interactions of the combatants with people and states, and, on the other hand, to what should be done to the enemy in the battlefield, and to the war captives after the end of the war, and to the enemy during a truce. پژوهش در سيرة معصومان براي معرفي آن اسوه‌هاي حقيقي به جامعه، ضروري است. سيرة آن بزرگواران را مي‌توان در ابعاد فردي، اجتماعي، سياسي و فرهنگي بررسي كرد. يكي از محورهاي سيره معصومان‌، سيره نظامي آن بزرگواران است كه ابعاد مختلفي دارد. يك بعد آن، قانون‌مداري و احترام به مقررات است. در اين نوشتار، چگونگي عمل به قانون در سيره نظامي رسول خدا و اميرمؤمنان بررسي شده است. لذا از يك سو، به چگونگي تعامل با مردم خودي اشاره شده و از سوي ديگر، چگونگي تعامل در ميدان جنگ با دشمن و پس از پايان جنگ با اسيران، و در حالت معاهده، با طرف مقابل، مورد بررسي قرار گرفته است
