abstract = {Through exploring biographies and bibliographies of the 3rd and 4th centuries, one can find that the book entitled "al-Futūh" and its author are not in their proper position. Similarly, the biography of Kufan Ibn ’A'tham, his identity, religion, works and other dimensions of his life have not yet been precisely identified. The present study has taken form on the necessity of having more identification of the book al-Futūh and a search in the biography of its author. Although al-Futūh has been overshadowed due to some accounts inconsistent with Sunni spirit, the real religious affiliation of the author, who was seriously committed to the religion of the caliphs, can be identified. Although Ibn ’A'tham does not give the sources of his accounts properly, al-Futūh brings conventional assurance for the readers due to the expertise of its author, as well as its being specialized and the geometric relevance of its historical accounts. },

abstract_fa ={با کنکاش در منابع تراجم نگاری و کتاب شناسی  قرن های سوم و چهارم  هجری، درمی  یابیم که کتاب «الفتوح» و نویسنده‌ی آن در جایگاه مناسبی قرار ندارند و پیرو آن، زندگی نامه ابن اعثم کوفی؛ مشخصات واقعی، مذهب، آثار و سایر ابعاد زندگی وی، به طور دقیق شناسایی نشده است. برپایه‌ی بایستگی معرفی و شناخت هرچه بیشترکتاب «الفتوح» و جستجو در شرح حال نویسنده‌ی آن، پژوهش حاضر شکل گرفته است. هرچند کتاب «الفتوح» به خاطر برخی از گزارش های ناسازگار با مذاق مذهب تسنن، به محاق رانده شده است، با وجود این، مذهب واقعی نویسنده را می توان از آن به  دست آورد که شدیداً پایبند مکتب خلفا بوده  است. با اینکه ابن اعثم، منابع و مصادر گزارش هایش را آن گونه که باید، به دست نمی دهد، کتاب «الفتوح» با توجه به تخصص نویسنده، تخصصی بودن کتاب و تناسب هندسی گزارش های تاریخی آن، اطمینان عرفی را برای خوانندگانش به ارمغان می آورد.},
