The greatness of this incident can be studied through analyzing its backgrounds and the causes, as well as its repercussions and effects. The greatness of this incident is marked by the dramatic events, most of which occurring in an extraordinary manner following the martyrdom of Imam Hussein. Some of these events were relating to the elements of the universe such as the sun, the moon, the stars and the earth. Some others were relating to the prophets and the angles; there were still others relating to the jinn and some special animals, and others relating to human beings. In the present paper, through a review of the Shi'ah and Sunni traditions, these happenings have been investigated in ten lines of discussions. رخداد عاشورا و شهادت امام حسین علیه السلام در رأس مهم ترین حوادث تاریخ بشریت قرار دارد. عظمت این حادثه را می توان با تحلیل زمینه ها، چرایی، چگونگی وقوع، پیامدها و آثار آن بررسی کرد. یکی از نشانه های عظمت این حادثه، رخدادهای شگفتی است که غالب آنها شکل خرق عادت داشته و در پی شهادت امام حسین علیه السلام به وقوع پیوست. بعضی از این رخدادها، مربوط به اجزای نظام هستی همچون خورشید، ماه، ستارگان و زمین است. و بخشی دیگر به انبیاء و فرشتگان، و بخشی هم به جنیان و حیوانات اختصاص داشته، و برخی نیز مربوط به انسان هاست. دراین نوشتار، با بررسی روایات شیعه و اهل سنت، این رخدادها ضمن ده محور مورد بازکاوی قرار گرفته است.
