Although Islam does not accept this, it assigns primary importance to economy, because it can have great influence on the improvement or disorder of the other aspects of human life. The present paper tries to clarify the economic conditions of the Shiah in Iraq, using a historical and analytical approach based on works of history, narrations and rijāl (biography). First, it reviews the economic conditions of Iraq in the early centuries, and then explains the economic conditions of the Shiʿah. The research findings show that the main sources of the wealth in Iraq were primarily agriculture, trade and then industry. The Shiʿah worked mainly in trade and a small portion worked in agriculture. Some of them worked in industry. اقتصاد از ابعاد مهم زندگی بشر است به گونه ای که در برخی مکاتب حتی زیر بنای جامعه پنداشته شده است. اقتصاد در اسلام هرچند زیر بنا نیست، اما به آن اهمیت فراوان داده شده است، چرا که در بهبود یا نابسامانی دیگر شئون زندگی انسان تأثیر شگرف دارد. مقاله حاضر بر آن است تا با رویکرد تاریخی و تحلیلی، وضعیت اقتصادی شیعیان عراق را در عصر صادقین(ع) با بهره گیری از منابع تاریخی، حدیثی و رجالی روشن سازد. در این تحقیق ابتدا وضعیت اقتصادی عراق در دو قرن نخست بررسی شده و سپس به وضعیت اقتصادی شیعیان پرداخته شده است. طبق یافته های این تحقیق، منابع اصلی ثروت در عراق، ابتدا زراعت و تجارت و سپس صنعت بوده است. شیعیان از زراعت اندک، اما از تجارت سهم بیشتر داشتند و به صنعت نیز کم و بیش اشتغال داشتند. https://tarikh.nashriyat.ir/sites/tarikh.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/2_2.pdf
