Among the roles which philosophy played in Islamic civilization are: civilization is in need of philosophy to distinguish truth from untruth, the effect of philosophy on religion, the effect of philosophy on ethics, the effect of philosophy on politics and explanation of Utopia, and the effect of philosophy on theology. The present paper first deals with the meaning of culture, civilization, religion, ethics and politics and then briefly explains the course of development of philosophy in the world of Islam. The final part casts light on the role of philosophy in Islamic civilization. فلسفه با ورود خود به عالم اسلام، دست خوش تغییر و تحوّل و تکامل گردید و پس از آن، بر عرصه های گوناگون فرهنگ و تمدن اسلامی تأثیر گذاشت. ازجمله نقش های فلسفه در تمدن اسلامی را می توان نیازمندی تمدن به فلسفه در تمییز حقیقت از غیرحقیقت، تأثیر فلسفه در دین، تأثیر فلسفه در اخلاق، تأثیر فلسفه در سیاست و تبیین مدینه‌ی فاضله و تأثیر فلسفه در کلام دانست. در این نوشتار، پس از معناشناسی فرهنگ، تمدن، دین، اخلاق و سیاست، به سیر اجمالی فلسفه در عالم اسلام اشاره شده،و در ادامه به تبیین نقش فلسفه در تمدن اسلامی پرداخته شده است. https://tarikh.nashriyat.ir/sites/tarikh.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/5_6.pdf
