In the course of development of the study of the companions' works on hadith, the structural school developed to become two schools; "Hadith school" and "biography writing school". Due to the political, social, and scientific issues and needs, the companions' works on hadith takes precedence over the structure of biography writing. Therefore, a lot of the previous the companions' works on hadith had the form of "books concerned with the chains of transmission of hadith," and this is why these books are not considered among the companions' works on hadith. The objectives, advantages and disadvantages of this structure has led to the beginning of a new stage in the study of the companions' works on hadith which is structurally called "the companions' works on hadith and biography writing". Presenting a clear account of the school of the companions' works on hadith, this article refers to some of the objectives, advantages and disadvantages of this structure. «صحابه نگاری» طی بیش از ده قرن، فراز و فرودهای گوناگونی به خود دیده است. مهم ترین مباحث این دانش در دو بحث «مکاتب ساختاری» و «مکاتب محتوایی» خلاصه می شود. در سیر تطور صحابه نگاری، مکتب ساختاری به دو مکتب «حدیثی» و «شرح حال نگاری» تقسیم می شود. صحابه نگاری حدیثی به سبب مسائل و نیازهای سیاسی، اجتماعی و علمی بر ساختار شرح حال نگاری مقدم بوده است. به همین سبب بخش زیادی از صحابه نگاری های متقدم شکل «مسند نویسی حدیثی» به خود گرفته است و همین امر سبب پوشیده بودن این گونه کتاب ها در شمار کتب صحابه نگاری شده است. اهداف و مزایا و نقایصی که متوجه چنین ساختاری بوده سبب ظهور مرحله‌ی جدیدی در صحابه نگاری می شود که از لحاظ ساختاری به آن «صحابه نگاری شرح حال نویسی» گفته می شود. این نوشتار ضمن تشریح مکتب صحابه نگاری حدیثی، گوشه ای از اهداف، مزایا و نقایص این ساختار را برشمرده است. https://tarikh.nashriyat.ir/sites/tarikh.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/5_8.pdf
