The most important reason of this issue, firstly, is the lack of attention to the history and historiography by the seminary and clergies, and secondly, is the domination of the secular intellectual flow on the contemporary Iranian historiography, and denying and distorting the role of the seminary and clergies in historical events especially in the contemporary era. Ignoring the history and historiography by seminaries and the clergies, loses the material and historical information and gives the scope of the historiography of the seminary and clergies to the other streams; particularly the opponents. The historicizing and historiography problems on the issue of seminary and clergies can be studied in two major approaches, the problems that have a seminarial origin, and have emerged from the procedures and methods of the seminaries, and the problems that have a non-seminarial origin, ant it is evident in the western and enlightenment historicizing and historiography. به رغم اینکه روحانیت شیعه در طول تاریخ ایران اسلامی مهم ترین جریان فعال و تأثیرگذار در حوزه های مختلف علمی و عملی بوده، در عرصه‌ی تاریخ نگاری به نسبت نقشی که داشته اند، کمترین حضور را دارد. مهم ترین دلیل این مسئله در مرحله‌ی اول بی توجهی خود حوزه و روحانیت به مسئله‌ی تاریخ و تاریخ نگاری است؛ و در مرحله‌ی دوم، به ویژه در دوره‌ی معاصر، تسلط جریان روشنفکری سکولار بر تاریخ نگاری ایران معاصر و انکار و تحریف نقش حوزه و روحانیت در تحولات تاریخی است. بی توجهی حوزه و روحانیت به تاریخ و تاریخ نگاری، هم موجب از بین رفتن مواد و اطلاعات تاریخی می شود و هم عرصه‌ی تاریخ نگاری حوزه و روحانیت را به دست جریان ها دیگر، به ویژه مخالفان می سپارد. آسیب های تاریخ نگری و تاریخ نگاری در موضوع حوزه و روحانیت را از دو جهت می توان بررسی کرد: ابتدا آسیب هایی که منشأ حوزوی دارد و در رویّه و روش حوزوی ها در این خصوص وجود دارد؛ و دیگری آسیب هایی که منشأ غیرحوزوی دارد و در تاریخ نگری و تاریخ نگاری غربی و روشنفکری مشهود است. در این پژوهش این آسیب ها نقد و بررسی می شود.
