The existence of such a point of view and the effect of the difference of opinion of Shiite scholars on the thought of our Shiites led us to examine and evaluate both points of view based on the logic of historical studies. While Shaykh al-Mufid, like Shaykh al-Sadouq, believes in the martyrdom of the infallible Imams (PBUT), the results of this research show that in the works of Shaykh al-Mufid, common terms such as "mata", "madha", "tuwufia" and others were used for the martyrdom of Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT), and some researchers misunderstood these words and thought that he did not accept the martyrdom of the infallible Imams (PBUT). امروزه از سوی برخی از شیعیان درباره فرجام امامان معصوم(ع) چنین مطرح می گردد که شیخ صدوق (م381ق) معتقد به نظریه شهادت همه امامان معصوم(ع) بوده و شیخ مفید (م413ق) برخلاف این نظریه، شهادت همه‌ی اهل بیت(ع) را قابل اثبات نمی داند. وجود چنین دیدگاهی و تأثیر اختلاف نظر عالمان شیعه بر اندیشه شیعیان سبب گردید تا هر دو دیدگاه براساس منطق مطالعات تاریخی بررسی و ارزیابی شود. تحقیقات به عمل آمده نشان داد که در آثار شیخ مفید اصطلاحات عامی مانند «مَاتَ»، «مَضی»، «تُوُفِی» و غیر آن برای شهادت اهل بیت(ع) به کار رفته و برخی محققان، از این کلمات سوء برداشت کرده و تصور نموده اند که ایشان، به شهادت همه معصومان(ع) ـ مگر معدودی ـ معتقد نبوده است.  https://tarikh.nashriyat.ir/sites/tarikh.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/1_24.pdf
