Abstract:
he arrival of Alavis in Iran and their settlement in the southern shores of the Caspian Sea and the northern regions of Iran in the half of the 2nd century of Hijri created deep political and social changes among the people of those regions. Shia Islam became popular and expanded in these areas and the first Shia government was established in Iran between 316 and 250 AH. For this reason, in this research, which was carried out in a descriptive-analytical method and based on library sources, an attempt was made to investigate and analyze the role of political-religious leaders of Tabaristan Alavis in the expansion of Shiism in the northern regions of Iran. The basic question should be answered, what role did Alavi political-religious leaders in Tabaristan play in the expansion of Shiism in the northern regions of Iran?
